3rd Global Forum kicks off in Baku

Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu - APA. The 3rd Global Forum, organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, has today kicked off in Baku.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is attending the opening of the forum.

Officials from 72 countries, including two presidents, four prime ministers and foreign ministers, and former presidents from 41 countries attend the Forum.

The officials from U.S., Turkey, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Japan, Romania, Ukraine, Andorra, Afghanistan, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Colombia, Egypt, Estonia, France, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Lithuania, Macedonia and other countries will hold joint discussions and issue statements in Baku within two days.

At the opening ceremony, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Bulgarian President Plevneliev Rosen, Macedonian President Ç´orge Ivanov, Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat will make speeches, and the congratulations addressed to the Forum by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, U.S. former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and former President of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga will be read out .

During the 3rd Forum on “Building Trust in the Emerging World Order”, the influential political leaders will discuss the issues of concern in a period of widespread globalization such as ethnic and other conflicts, terror threats, development of democracy and problems in education, environment and other areas, and future challenges for their elimination.

Baku hosted the 1st and 2nd Global Forums organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and the Club of Madrid with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora in 2013 and 2014.
