UN Development Programme includes Azerbaijan in group of countries with high level human development

Our country has also been included in a group of countries with high level human development, APA reports quoting the 2013 Human Development Report of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

This year Azerbaijan has been downgraded by one point in the development rating. Norway, Australia, the United States, Netherlands and Germany lead the rating with the highest level of human development. Neighboring countries like Georgia ranks the 72nd, Armenia 87th, Russia 55th and Turkey 90th.

The report covers data on living standards and social protection of citizens of different countries, health indicators, education and cultural development of the population, crime rate, environmental protection and people's participation in decision-making in the world.

Thus, 74% of respondents in Azerbaijan said that they trust the government, the same percentage of respondents said they feel safe. Economic activity in Azerbaijan is 68.5% among men, 61.6% among women.

95.7% of men above 25 and at least 90% of women have secondary education. Literacy rate in the country is 99.8%. 53% of the respondents are satisfied with the level of education in Azerbaijan.
