Department Chief of Presidential Administration: â€œWe always see Zeynab Khanlarova supporting the state, statehood and peopleâ€

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. “Ms. Zeynab Khanlarova is one of the prominent members of Azerbaijani culture. She has been representing our people within the country and abroad for years and, honorary titles, orders and medals of the USSR and independent Azerbaijan have been conferred on her. She is also a well-known public figure representing her voters at the Parliament,” Department Chief of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov told APA, commenting on the discussions over critical article published by the pro-government Kaspi newspaper about MP and People's Artist Zeynab Khanlarova.

Zeynab Khanlarova has protested against the statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the burning of her cottage in Nardaran village and detention of the persons suspected of committing the incident. Some pro-opposition media outlets even reported citing to her statements that Khanlarova no longer supports the government.

Hasanov refuted such articles: “Ms. Zeynab Khanlarova has always served the state and statehood, had close relations with the leaders of the country and been known for her direct adherence to the government. No opposition party or oppositionist has been able to use Zeyneb Khanlarova for political goals up to now. Today’s opposition will fail to cause confrontation of the person, who completely adheres to her state and nation, with the government and the Head of the State.

“Zeynab Khanlarova is a perfect culture figure, but not a mature politician. She sometimes makes emotional statements. Though the Kaspi is a pro-government newspaper, it is an independent media outlet, where a group of journalists work. Like all media outlets, the Kaspi has its own style, the persons working here have their own views on what is happening in the country. They also want Zeynab Khanlarova to stand by them the way they want. There is nothing extraordinary here. We always see Zeynab Khanlarova supporting the state, statehood and people. Those who want to see Zeynab Khanlarova among the persons like Akram Naibov, Rustam Ibrahimbeyov are mistaken.
As regards Zeynab Khanlarova’s position on the Interior Ministry’s statement, I should note that one of the major tasks of the law-enforcement bodies is to maintain stability, public order, citizens’ property, bring to justice those damaging this work. The Interior Ministry has commented on Zeynab Khanlarova’s reaction and this issue can be considered closed,” he said.
