Azerbaijan Prosecutorâ€™s Office released information on pre-trial detention sentence for Gular Ahmadova

The case is based on the video materials spread in Mass media by the former rector of the International University of Azerbaijan Elshad Abdullayev concerning the member of Azerbaijani Parliament Gular Ahmadova.

The investigation has revealed that Gular Ahmadova in order to misappropriate in a great number of others’ property acting in a pre-concert with Sevinj Babayeva and with her help met with former rector of Azerbaijani International University, misusing his confidence and giving false promises on Elshad Abdullayev’s election as MP, made fraudulent misappropriating 1 000 000 (one million) USD in November and October of 2005.

Beside it, she, being aware of pre-trial detention sentence chosen for Sevinj Babayeva who made fraudulent action against Namig Aliyev misusing his trust in 2007 and misappropriating in a great number of other’s property and of going on investigation launched on January 19, 2009 on the article 178.3.2 as well as being aware of search warrant about her and decision of the court on pre-trial detention, saw off Sevinj Babayeva from Baku Airport to Istanbul on September, 2012 basing on her personal relations.

Basing on pre-agreement with citizen of Turkey Selcuk Aghhlayan, at her request he met S.Babayeva and organized her illegal stay in Turkey under the name Meryem Solmaz. During this period S.Aglayan funded S.Babayeva stay in Turkey and thus committed a serious crime, preventing Sevinj Babayeva’s arrest.

G.Ahmedova is accused of committing a crime under Article 178.3.2 and 307.2 of the Criminal Code and pre-trial detention sentence was chosen for her.
