Azerbaijan Elders Council holds extraordinary congress, Fettah Heydarov elected as chairman of Council - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED - <span style="color: red;">PHOTOSESSION

It was said at the congress that 179 out of 186 representatives are attending the congress. Following the confirmation of the agenda of the congress, the report of the Inspection and Supervision Commission of the Council was heard.

Annexes and amendments were made to the regulations of the Council, following this, the chairman of the council and other members were elected.

In his speech, chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh said that the elders’ advice is always needed for the development of society in the right direction.

Noting Heydarov’s activities, he characterized him as a person, who knows national values and fights to protect them.

In his speech, chief of Socio-Political Department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov called Elders Council a gold fund. He noted that the activity of Azerbaijan Elders Council developed more with Heydar Aliyev’s support: “Elders are symbol of wisdom and experience. President Ilham Aliyev is ready to work with you.”

The participants supported Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy in the presidential elections and underlined that there is no alternative of Heydar Aliyev’s political course for Azerbaijan’s development.

Following this, deputy chairman of the organization, MP Fattah Heydarov has been elected as chairman of Azerbaijan Elders Council.

At the end Hedyarov made a speech. He thanked the congress participants for their confidence.

New chairman of Azerbaijan Elders Council has not been appointed since academician Budag Budagov died.

Baku. Ramil Mammadli - APA. The 4th congress of Azerbaijan Elders Council has started.

APA reports that the national anthem was played, Heydar Aliyev and those killed for independence were commemorated.

Following this, Azerbaijani MP Fattah Heydarov gave information about the event, said 179 out of 186 congress participants are attending the event.

Chief of Presidential Administration’s socio-political department Ali Hasanov read the letter of President Ilham Aliyev to the congress participants.

The letter underlined the importance of the Elders Council, role in the development of statehood, confidence was expressed that the council will continue successful activity.
