Azerbaijan Elders Council announces support for Ilham Aliyevâ€™s candidacy in presidential elections

APA reports that the congress representatives issued a message to President Ilham Aliyev on this.

The message notes that Ilham Aliyev, as a worthy successor of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, has made serious contributions to Azerbaijan’s development.

It is noted that Azerbaijan is the leading state of the region for its favorable geographical position, natural resources and economic potential.

“Our country plays an important role in the transnational energy and transport projects in Eurasia, as well as in ensuring regional peace and security. It is important for Azerbaijan to be ruled by the resolute politician like you, who has rich governing experience, ability to accurately assess the geopolitical situation and whom the people believe. Therefore, for the sake of the future development of our country and welfare of our people, the Elders Council considers that your policy must be continued, welcomes the support of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation for your candidacy. The Elders Council joins this initiative and supports your candidacy in the upcoming presidential elections. We will actively participate in the election campaign, do our best to contribute to promoting your policy.”
