-Why have you resigned from Azerbaijan Popular Front Party?

-Azerbaijan Popular Front Party is an open party, it is free to enter the party and resign. The partyâ€™s statute ensures it. Any person can voluntarily leave the party. I have used this right.

-What are the reasons of your resignation?

-I have used my Statute right.

-You will reportedly put forward your candidacy in the presidential elections. How will be your further activity?

-I will have independent political activity. I am not going to enter any party. Maybe in future I will initiate to establish a new party. Everybody knows my position concerning the elections. Anyhow I support participating in the elections. I intend to put forward my candidacy for presidency, but I have not made concrete decision, because I will not participate in the elections alone, there are persons who will make the decision along with me. I will have talks with those persons and specify my decision not later than Monday.

-What was the reaction of the party to your resignation?

-They said they regretted it.

-Will the position of the party, which you will establish, differ from Azerbaijan Popular Front Party?

-I have no concrete decision on establishing a party. Simply, I do not rule it out.

-Did the partyâ€™s decision on not participating in the elections have influence on your resignation?

-I repeat that resignation is free. This is my right. I do not want to publicize the issues that influenced it. I want to keep secret. Everybody can comment on my decision as he wishes.

-Did you have discussions with the chairman of the party before your resignation?

-I do not want to speak about this issue any more. I intend to participate in the presidential elections and every word could be understood as a campaign. On the other hand, I have not presented my resignation letter to Ali Karimli personally, because I had to leave for the region.
