Open Society Party passes decision not to participate in presidential elections

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. Ex-speaker Rasul Guliyevâ€™s Open Society Party has also passed a decision not to participate in the presidential elections on October 15. Chairman of the party Akif Shahbazov told APA that decision had been made at the meeting of the Management Board.
â€œWe discussed the political situation in Azerbaijan and came to the conclusion that traditional participation is of no importance, since Rasul Guliyev is not in Azerbaijan and his victory is impossible. The authorities should demonstrate political will, make Rasul Guliyev return and create conditions for equal right participation in the elections,â€ he said.
As regards joint steps along with the opposition Shahbazov said that some opposition parties violated rules of the game every time and this resulted in such a situation.
â€œSolidarity will be possible only if the opposition discusses the main reasons of its mistakes,â€ he said.
