Azerbaijan’s President gives instructions to collect portraits in all the regions and cities
“The president said that this is respect for the electoral legislation when the election campaign starts. Mr. President noted that he will be one of the candidates, therefore his portraits should not be more than the others’. On the other hand, Mr. President said he does not like such portraits to be hung. The head of state noted that he wants to be in the hearts of people with his deed, he does not need portraits.
Ali Hasanov said the president gave instructions to Baku Mayor’s Office and heads of local executive powers to collect the portraits from the regions, roads, parks in a short period of time and not to hang portraits anywhere.
Ali Hasanov said the head of state addressing the meeting noted the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan. The president said GDP made up 16.5% during the first six months of this year, 14% of it was observed in industry and 10% in agriculture. Inflation made up 20% within the six months, money income of the population increased by 32%. Investments in the country’s economy in all sources made up $4.4bn, $3.1bn. of which fell under domestic investment, $1.3 under foreign investment. Private sector had 84% shares in the GDP growth. Azerbaijan’s currency resources are over $13bn. Within six months the state offered social assistance to 467 people or 100,000 families.
Ali Hasanov underlined that the president also set a number of tasks. The head of state gave instructions to continue the measures to prevent inflation.
“President Ilham Aliyev noted that measures against inflation should take objective, subjective and international terms into consideration. Minimum grant and minimum salary should be increased. Development program of the regions should be continued and infrastructures should be concluded. Hospitals, schools, cultural houses, touristic zones, gas, water and road installations should be carried out. Serious measures on army building and strengthening of defense industry should be takenâ€, he said.
Hasanov noted that Ilham Aliyev had touched upon security issues and provided information that Azerbaijan had ensured its energy security and exported energy resources to world market freely. “The Head of State stressed that strict steps on transport security had been taken. After commissioning of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad and other transport projects, transport security of the country will be ensured. Routes via Baku-Georgia, Baku-Iran and Baku-Russia are being installed at presentâ€, he said.
The department head added that President Ilham Aliyev had also touched upon information and food security. “The State Program on Food Security is being made. Serious measures on grain and other products will be carried out. The Cabinet should direct its activity in this field as well. Innovations on information security of the country should be realizedâ€, he said. Hasanov stated that the President set tasks to put satellite into orbit.
Hasanov stated that Azerbaijani President had touched upon the establishment of financial discipline. “The President stressed that several ministries, committees and companies should not forecast exaggerated budgets abusing increase of state budget. The state should take serious measures on domestic and foreign investment policy. Proper fields should be developed and Azerbaijan should continue to invest capital in foreign countriesâ€, he said.
Hasanov added that Ilham Aliyev specially appealed to City and Region Executive Powers. To him, the President commissioned that the Electoral Code should be observed during the presidential elections in the country.
“The Head of State noted that the elections should be held justly and transparently, win confidence of people and equal promotion campaign should be established for all candidates. The Elections should meet the international norms. Administrative resources should not be used. Presidential candidates should be equal before the electionsâ€, he said.
