Azerbaijani President congratulates George Bush

Bakuâ€“APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of congratulation to President George W. Bush on the occasion of the Independence Day of the United States of America. The Presidential Press-Service told APA that the President of Azerbaijan congratulated his American counterpart and the American people. â€œThe United States of America makes consistent efforts for enhancing peace and stability in the world and leads the war on terror and Azerbaijan is always ready to contribute to this work. Today Azerbaijan-US relations have a strategic character and are developing successfully. Azerbaijan-US close cooperation in a number of fields, particularly in the energy security and US support for the transnational projects are important for us.
We are satisfied with the Azerbaijanâ€™s integration into the Euro-Atlantic institutions and US support for the development of democratic institutions in our country. We highly appreciate the US successive efforts as the OCSE Minsk Group co-chair for the peaceful and fair solution to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the most painful problem for our country and we are hopeful for the ending of Armenian aggression and liberation of our occupied lands soonâ€.
