Assistant of Russian President: â€œAgenda of meeting between Dmitry Medvedev and Ilham Aliyev can cover Iran issueâ€

Baku. Tamara Grigoryevaâ€“APA. â€œRussian President Dmitry Medvedev and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will debate security and international legal status of the Caspian Seaâ€, Sergey Prikhodko, Assistant of Russian President told journalists, APA reports quoting Russian press agencies.
Prikhodko noted that the issue would be debated at the 3rd Summit of the heads of Caspian littoral states in Baku.
â€œThe date of the summit has not yet been determined, but the work is under way. We are interested in productivity of the meeting of the heads of statesâ€, he said. He added that the meeting between Medvedev and Aliyev would touch upon Iran issue and mentioned that there were many Azerbaijani Diasporas in Iran.
â€œApproach of Azerbaijani President to this issue is very interesting for usâ€, he said. To him, the sides will exchange views on solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He stressed that Russia supported all efforts directed to the settlement of the conflict within the framework of OSCE MG as well as other formats.
â€œMoscow has unchangeable position. We consider that Azerbaijanis and Armenians should select solution formula of the problemâ€, he said. He added that Russia could play a role of guarantor of compromise coordination.
