Azerbaijan allots two military units for NATO

Two military units of Azerbaijani Armed Forces have been allotted for NATO, Robert Simmons, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia visiting Baku said, APA reports. Simmons said that peacekeeping contingent is being trained in one unit. The other military unit serves pilot in adoption of NATO standards. This military unit will cooperate with NATO task forces.
Simmons said one of Azerbaijan’s military aerodromes will be reconstructed with NATO’s support in the framework of Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP). He noted that NATO forces used Azerbaijan’s aerodromes during the peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan. /APA/
