Public Chamber issues statement on attempt to picket outside Azerbaijani Parliament

Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. Public Chamber issued a statement on attempt to picket outside the Azerbaijani Parliament today, the Public Chamber’s press service told APA. The statement says that the requirements of the law “On freedom of assembly†were again violated, since Baku Major’s Office did not allow the Public Chamber to picket outside the Azerbaijani Parliament on November 2 with the slogan “No restriction on freedom of assemblyâ€.
More than 20 participants were taken to Yasamal District Police Department during the picket.
According to the statement, Public Chamber demands immediate release of the detainees and says that the police officers, who dispersed the picket, must be held accountable.
