Parliament continues hearing on state budget bill 2010

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. Milli Majlis, the Azerbaijani parliament continued hearing on state budget bill for 2010 on Wednesday, APA reports. Lawmaker Eldar Ibrahimov proposed to allocate soft loans to Azerittifag for organizing agricultural goods sale in the regions.

MP Panah Huseyn said State Oil Fund Concept lost its significance and proposed to abolish this organization. He said ministries of Finance and Taxes, as well as State Customs Committee should be united.

Lawmaker Yagub Mahmudov proposed to increase resources for the academic filed and to raise salaries of scientists and researchers.

Lawmaker Ganira Pashayeva proposed to finance surgical operations of children with heart problems. Pashayeva also focused on the restoration of historic and cultural monuments. She said population of Tovuz region, where she was elected to the parliament, were suffering from water problems.

Lawmaker Ali Masimov said it needed to conduct reforms for attracting additional resources to the budget.

MP Nasib Nasibli said it was negative case to form most part of the budget on the basis of State Oil Fund.

Speaker Ogtay Asadov said he hoped that the state budget bill for 2010 would be adopted on Thursday. “I consider we will continue hearing in the morning and to adopt the document in afternoon. Then we can pass to the discussion of other issues included in the budget package”.
