Daniel Blessington: â€œWe hope we will be here in the parliamentary elections next yearâ€

International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) will continue functioning in Azerbaijan at least by late January, head of IFES Baku office Daniel Blessington told APA. Blessington did not say concretely whether the office will function in Azerbaijan after that or not.
â€œWe are not sure, but we hope we will be here in the parliamentary elections next year. USAID has been financing IFES since it opened its office in Azerbaijan in 1998. In the coming weeks IFES and USAID will hold discussions on the possible activity concerning the parliamentary elections,â€ he said.

Daniel Blessington said various events will be held in connection with the local elections.
â€œIFES plans to continue working with the Central Election Commission, hold trainings on complaints and appeals and raise awareness of people,â€ he said.
