Opposition party calls for freezing of Azerbaijan-US relations

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. Contemporary Musavat Party (MMP) called the US President Barack Obamaâ€™s direct pressure on the opening of Turkish-Armenian borders and his recent phone conversation with Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan as a negative case. MMP expressed its position in its meeting on Thursday, the partyâ€™s press service told APA. The party leadership considers that US Presidentâ€™s action contributes to the tensions in the South Caucasus. It said these processes would put the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan under the question. The party leadership decided to address the President of Azerbaijan to propose freezing of all political, economic relations with the United States in response of its policy. MMP also decided to hold protest actions before the representations of international organizations.
