Mazahir Panahov: â€œElection commissions are not formed basing on authorities or oppositionâ€

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. â€œElection commissions are not formed basing on authorities or opposition. There are common principles of forming commissions,â€ Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said commenting on the views that some opposition parties are not represented in the election commissions. CEC chairman said election commissions are formed as envisaged in the Electoral Code.
â€œAccording to the Electoral Code, election commissions are formed of the representatives of majority, minority and non-party men. Now election commissions have been formed basing on this principle. In fact, I do not consider such claims of parties bad. Political parties have their interests. This is the political struggle. In a democratic society all political parties should approach the issues from the aspect they want, on condition that it serves the people,â€ he said.
