Parliament agenda includes 30 issues

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. Milli Mejlis, the Azerbaijani parliament included 30 issues in agenda of first meeting of its autumn session, lawmaker Zahid Oruj told APA. The first issue was about approval of autumn session’s legislation plans for 2009. Then the lawmakers will discuss the opening of embassies in Serbia, Oman, Libya, Lebanon and Estonia.

The draft law on approval of joint statement by the Azerbaijani and Russian presidents on the Caspian Sea, as well as joint statement on finalizing of delimitation of Azerbaijan-Russian borders and basic principles of sharing of water resources of Samur River will be discussed at the session.

The lawmakers will also discuss “Plan of measures for Azerbaijani-Ukrainian cooperation in 2009-2010”, protocol of amendments to the air communication agreement between Azerbaijan and Georgia, “Protection of investments between Azerbaijan and Syria”, “Mutual assistance and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria in the customs field”, “Visa free travel for the persons with diplomatic, service and special passports between Azerbaijan and Syria”, as well as approval of the “Regulations of Advising Committee of the Azerbaijani and Polish presidents”.

Confirmation of the Convention on “Cyber crimes”, amendment to the agreement with International Telecommunications Satellite Organization, protocol on amendments to the agreement on “Exemption of normative documents, measuring devices and standard patterns from customs duties, taxes and special permission with the aim of inspection and metrological attestation”, optional protocol to “Convention on safety of UN personnel and the related personnel”.

On the first sitting the parliamentarians will also discuss confirmation of the protocol on agreement (July 20, 2002) on “Cooperation among GUAM participating states in combating terrorism, organized crimes and other dangerous crimes”, Convention on “Protection of persons in connection with the automated development of individual data”, amendments and annexes to the laws on “Electric power”, “Gas supply”, “Water supply and sewage”, “Protection of environment”, “Specially protected natural areas”, “Natural treatment resources, health centers and resorts”, “Tobacco and tobacco products”, “Civil service” and “Public television and radio broadcasting”.

Document on changes in the composition of Alpout and Khanliglar municipalities of Gazakh region will also be discussed at the sitting.
