International organizations have not yet been invited to municipal elections in Azerbaijan

Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. â€œThe Central election Commission will decide to send invitations to the international organizations for municipal elections in Azerbaijan this yearâ€, chief of the international relations department of the Central Election Commission Rovzat Gasimov told APA. He said the invitations were not sent because the date of elections was not announced yet.

Regarding the decision of Council of Europe Congress for Local and Regional Powers to observe the municipal elections in Azerbaijan, Gasimov said he knew about that. â€œThis is not a final decision. The organization decided to include the observation mission in its plans only. Azerbaijan is a member of the Council of Europe and is interested in the transparency of the elections. The members of the congress may take it into consideration and included it in their plansâ€.

Gasimov said CEC would discuss the issue of inviting the international organizations after the announcement of election day.
