The head of state cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening and became familiarized with the opportunities of new medical center, APA reports.

President Aliyev also visited the genocide mass grave in Guba. The head of state was informed that the mass grave is an irrefutable evidence of genocide committed by Armenians against peaceful population in 1918. Total territory of the mass grave is 514 square km. Two wells and two channels filled with human bodies were found during the excavations. All people were killed by blunt cold guns. Armenians killed Azeris, Lezgins, Jews, Tats, Avars and representatives of other ethnic groups in Guba. Remains of more than 400 bodies were found there. There were more than 50 children, 100 women and old people among the bodies.

The mass grave was discovered during the agricultural work there. Researchers of the Archeology and Ethnography Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences conducted first researches on April8-11, 2007 and confirmed that the mass grave was created as a result of genocide committed by Armenians against the peaceful local residents in 1918. Archive materials showed that Armenians killed 36 782 people in April-May, 1918 in Guba region and ruined 122 villages.

The mass grave is irrefutable evidence that informs international community about the Armenian vandalism.

President Ilham Aliyev was informed about the project of memorial to be built on the mass grave.

The president will also attend the opening of power station in Guba on Friday.
