Conference on â€œIslamic culture and dialogue in the modern worldâ€ held in Gulustan Palace

Conference on the theme â€œIslamic culture and dialogue in the modern worldâ€ was held in Gulustan Palace on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of â€œDialogue Eurasiaâ€ Platform and DA magazine in Azerbaijan, APA reports. Azerbaijani intellectuals, state figures and religious leaders attended the event. Chairman of Azerbaijan National Committee of the Platform Nizami Jafarov spoke about the events held by the committee.
â€œBut this activity should be extended, more peoples and states should be involved here,â€ he said.

Secretary of Azerbaijani representation of DA Mustafa Saatci said the magazine translated into Anatolian Turkish and published the book â€œRoad leading to democracyâ€ by head of Presidentâ€™s Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev and â€œLiterary thoughtsâ€ by Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Efendiyev in Azerbaijan. He underlined that 110 articles about Azerbaijan had been published in 28 editions of DA.

Magazines about Fetullah Gulen, leader of nurculuk, were distributed among the participants and video about Gulen was demonstrated. MP, chairman of United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Gudrat Hasanguliyev left the event protesting against it.

Chief of socio-political department of the Presidentâ€™s Office Ali Hasanov said one of the most valuable priorities of the modern world was dialogue. He said all problems could be solved through dialogue.
â€œAll through the history, the efforts to convert societies from their religion, traditions and unite with stronger societies failed. Dialogue does not make people to refuse their beliefs. It means reaching understanding,â€ he said.

Head of Russia-based Institute of Press Development Olga Karabanova, chairman of Azerbaijan Writersâ€™ Union Anar Rzayev, co-chair of Dialogue Eurasia Platform Harun Tokuk and others addressed the event.
