Karabakh Liberation Organization appeals to parliament for marking May 8 as “Day of the occupied territories”

Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. Karabakh Liberation Organization appealed to parliament for marking May 8 as “Day of the occupied territories”, the organization’s press service told APA. The organization says that declaring May 8, occupation of Shusha, as “Day of the occupied territories” may help inform the world community about Armenian occupation, strengthen patriotic upbringing, hatred towards the enemy and raise battle spirits in the country.
“Speaking of the occupied territories, we mean all our territories occupied by Armenians within the past 100 years including Irevan, Zangazur and Goyja. Taking into account that Shusha is the symbol of ancientry, culture and morality of not only Karabakh, but also of the whole Azerbaijan, we offer to mark the occupation of Shusha as “Day of the occupied territories”. This offer also aims to prevent Armenization of Shusha’s history, culture, Armenians’ attempts to exclude the issue on Shusha from the process of negotiations.”
