“Azerbaijan is a rich country in terms of oil and gas reserves. In this context, the transition to green energy should be implemented in time for both Azerbaijan and other countries,” said Alessandra Roccasalvo, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative a.i. in Azerbaijan during her speech at conference titled Raising Ambition, Delivering Action: COP29 Sustainable Business Forum, APA reports.
According to her, Azerbaijan also has opportunities in solar and wind energy: “Climate change knows no borders. The fight against it only passes through international fight. Azerbaijan took responsibility of one of these struggles – hosting COP29. This is a huge responsibility. We are ready and able to provide all possible support in this struggle.”
