“By signing the Declaration on "Children, Youth and Climate Action", Azerbaijan has signaled that children and youth are a special focus for all of us,” COP29 Youth Climate Champion Leyla Hasanova said at the signing ceremony of the Declaration on "Children, Youth and Climate Action", APA reports.
She said the COP29 presidency had committed to putting children and young people at the forefront of this year's climate policy:
"We need to keep children and young people in mind when discussing climate change. Think about how your decisions could affect current and future generations. There will be additional opportunities for young people to make progress on climate action in the coming weeks and months."
She added that climate finance must be made accessible to children and young people.
