U.S. President Donald Trump intends to accept a "gift" from Venezuela in the form of a tanker carrying 1 million barrels of oil at a Texas port in the coming hours, APA reports.
He confirmed this in a conversation with reporters at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington before departing for Texas to participate in a series of campaign rallies.
"As far as I understand, yes," the American leader said when asked to clarify whether he would indeed inspect a tanker carrying oil donated by Venezuela to the United States in Texas. "We've been very successful in taking control of Venezuela. They sent me a million barrels of oil as a gift. And I'm handing that over to the United States of America," Trump declared.
"We'll take a million barrels of oil. And I'll hand it over to you guys to use however you want," he repeated. At the same time, the US president once again suggested that fuel prices on global markets could soon fall. "Oil prices are going to drop very soon and very sharply," Trump asserted. According to American media reports, the president will inspect a tanker carrying Venezuelan oil in Port Arthur. He will also visit Corpus Christi and Lubbock in Texas.
