The Russian Consulate General in Isfahan, Iran, was damaged Sunday by an attack on a nearby provincial government building, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Tuesday, APA reports citing CNN.
The attack’s blast wave pushed several employees backward and broke windows in the consulate building and nearby residential apartments, according to Zakharova.
No casualties or serious injuries were reported.
Zakharova called attacks on diplomatic and consular missions a violation of international law.
“We demand that all parties strictly respect the inviolability of diplomatic premises and refrain from any attacks on the safety, life, and health of their personnel,” she said.
