British Prime Minister Andy Burnham and French President Emmanuel Macron have discussed establishing production lines for long-range SCALP cruise missiles on Ukrainian territory, the British prime minister’s office stated following the leaders’ meeting in London, APA reports.
“Regarding Ukraine, the parties discussed the next steps towards establishing production lines on Ukrainian territory for long-range SCALP missiles using British technologies,” the statement said.
Burnham and Macron also discussed the results of the “Coalition of the Willing” meeting held in Kyiv last week.
Earlier, Burnham announced that his government had authorized defense company MBDA to transfer classified information to Ukraine regarding British components used in SCALP missiles.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov criticized these steps by Britain, saying that London supports the Ukrainian side in the conflict.
