Poland has decided to restrict air traffic in the eastern part of the country for three months. The measure is intended to help ensure the effective operation of the country’s air defense system, according to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, APA reports citing RBC Ukraine.
From September 10 to December 9, eastern Poland will be designated as a temporary restricted airspace zone, EP R134.
The zone will extend from the ground to flight level FL95 — about 3 kilometers. Passenger aircraft normally fly at higher altitudes.
"Therefore, the zone does not apply to passenger aircraft operating at higher altitudes," the military said.
The restrictions are intended to ensure more effective operation of Poland’s military air defense system in the east, according to the command.
