Russian Georgians appealed to Russian government agencies for asylum

Sochi – APA. Russians living in Zugdidi Region of Georgia appealed to Russia for asylum. APA reports quoting Interfax that 14 Russians came to Krasnodar province and officially wanted asylum from Federal Migration Service. Deputy Head of Sochi Vladimir Volkov said that the Russians wanted to get refugee status and later citizenship, since they underwent pressure in Georgia.
“We have temporarily granted asylum to the Russian Georgians. One of them a woman, who has four-month child, has been settled in hospital. The others have been temporarily settled in the houses of their relatives in Rostov, Volgadonsk and one of the Cossack villages,” he said.
