Receb Tayyip Erdogan: â€œTurkey will support elimination of results of military operations in Georgiaâ€

Tbilisi-APA. â€œPurpose of my visit to Georgia is to share pain in the heart of our neighbor caused by the recent developments in the countryâ€, said Turkish Prime Minister Receb Tayyip Erdogan at the joint press conference with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili in Tbilisi, APA reports. He said developments in Georgia caused serious concerns in Turkey too. â€œWe, Turkey support sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia. Georgia is the strategic country in the South Caucasus. Turkey will support elimination of results of military operations. Turkish Red Crescent has already begun humanitarian assistance to Georgiaâ€. Erdogan stressed the importance of establishing the platform of cooperation and security in the South Caucasus and said he had discussed this issue with both Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev and Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili. He said both presidents welcomed this proposal. Erdogan said Georgian President asked for the assistance to restoration of infrastructure in different regions of the country destroyed as a result of military operations. He promised to assist the restoration of houses and hospitals destroyed in Gori.
