Tbilisi-APA. “Russia should stop fire immediately”, Matthew Bryza, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, who arrived in Tbilisi by the instruction of U.S President George Bush, said, APA reports quoting Regnum.
He noted that Russian servicemen had prepared military intervention for a long time and delivery of railway troops to Abkhazia for establishment of proper infrastructure proved it.
“We are hearing surprising statement made by Russia on genocide committed in Tskhinvali. There was fighting between two sides. What was their opinion based on while speaking about genocide, it was not known yet. Kremlin’s statements do not coincide with activity of servicemen, who occupied Georgia”, he said.
Bryza added that Georgian army conducted military operations after entering Russian troops to Ossetia through Rok tunnel”, he said. If Russia defeats South Ossetia and Abkhazia in reality, then let it not bomb Georgian territories far from conflict zones.
Bryza got angry with accusation of Russia against the US on establishment of change of regime.
“We functioned in Iraq basing on Resolution adopted by the UN Security Council. What was Russia’s activity based on? Saakashvili has democratically been elected by Georgian People. I am here to welcome the choice of Georgian People”, he said. Bryza noted that the attack of Russia, which was bigger and stronger than Georgia many times, was ruthless and stressed that it was high time to establish international peacekeeping forces to support the peace.
