Baku-APATurkey has strongly condemned a suicide bombing attack in a Kabul restraurant that has killed IMF and UN officials as well as more than a dozen foreigner nationals, APA reports quoting Today's Zaman.

“We strongly condemn this brazen terrorist act that targets civilians and Afghanistan's peace and security,” a statement Turkish Foreign Ministry released on Saturday, said.

A Taliban attack against the popular Kabul restaurant killed 21 people, in the deadliest attack against foreign civilians since the war began nearly 13 years ago.

The dead from Friday's assault against La Taverna du Liban included 13 foreigners and eight Afghans, all civilians, in an attack that could mark a pivot point for international organizations operating in Kabul. It came as security has been deteriorating and apprehension has been growing among Afghans over the future security of their country as US-led foreign forces prepare for a final withdrawal at the end of the year.

Ankara expressed condolences to families of the victims and wished rapid recovery for injured people in the bombing attack.

Turkey said it reiterates that it will continue its solidarity with “friend and brotherly” Afghanistan and that these terror attacks will not yield any results. It described the terrorist attacks as a “crime against humanity.”
