Iranian opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi’s health deteriorates

Mousavi was suffering from extreme chest pains and he was accompanied to the hospital by his wife Zahra Rahnavard and several Security agents. According to obtained news, at the hospital Mousavi underwent an angiography due to a blocked artery.

 

Mir Hossein Mousavi, one of the opposition leaders in Iran has been under house arrest since February 14, 2011 along with his wife Zahra Rahnavard. During this period, Mousavi’s health has severely deteriorated and he has faced issues with his heart with the clogging of his arteries. On August 23, 2010 Mousavi underwent a coronary angioplasty and stenting due to a clogged artery. In the past two years Mr. Mousavi who is 72 year old has faced intense deterioration in his mental and physical state as a result of the harsh circumstances of his house arrest. He suffers from a fluctuating blood pressure and coronary heart disease.
