Baku_APA. At least 10 people including three related to a private news channel were killed and several others injured in separate incidents of firing in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Friday, local media and police said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Express TV said that in Nazimabad area of the city, some unknown gunmen on motorbikes opened fire at their van on Friday night, killing three people associated with the news channel and injuring one other.
Aslam Khan, Bureau Chief of Express TV Karachi station said that the van carrying four people was parked near the Matric Board Office when it came under attack.
In another incident in the evening, leader of a religious party Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Sami-ul-Haq group) and two others were shot dead by unknown gunmen in Shahra-e-Faisal area of the city.
Police said that the leader, together with his three party workers were riding in a car when unknown gunmen opened fire at it, killing one man on the spot and injuring three others.
The injured people were shifted to hospital where two of them including the leader succumbed to injuries.
The attackers fled following the attack and police started a search operation in the area.
Earlier, four people including a woman were killed in separate incidents of firing in various areas of the city.
Rangers conducted a search operation in the morning and arrested 10 suspects.
