Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has arrived in Oman, APA reports, citing Iran’s official news agency IRNA.
Araqchi traveled to Muscat, the capital of Oman, to participate in nuclear negotiations with a U.S. delegation led by President Biden’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
Steve Witkoff is also currently in Muscat.
Both sides are expected to hold separate meetings with Oman’s Foreign Minister ahead of the negotiations.
The talks are scheduled to begin within the next few hours with mediation by the Omani foreign minister.
These discussions mark the highest-level negotiations between Tehran and Washington since U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal in 2018.
