The positions of Russia and Iran are now closer than in the past, said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi during a meeting with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, APA reports.
Araqchi noted that he held a lengthy and constructive meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I delivered a written message from our leadership to President Putin. It was a message not only for him but also for the world, affirming that Iran considers Russia a key strategic partner and consults on important matters," he stated.
The minister added that relations between Iran and Russia have perhaps never been as close and strong as they are now.
