Reports about imposing fees on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz are merely speculation and have no official confirmation, Iran’s Supreme Leader’s representative to India, Abdul Majid Hakim Ilahi, told TASS.
“This has appeared in the news and on social media, but there has been no official statement from Iran that ships must pay for passage (through the strait – ed.). These are only rumors,” he said.
The Supreme Leader’s representative also noted that Iran will reopen the Strait of Hormuz after the war with the United States and Israel ends.
