The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has commented on the claims regarding the helicopter crash of the late President Ebrahim Raisi, APA reports citing IRNA.
Armed Forces General Staff's Communication Center has issued a statement regarding the matter.
"The crash of late President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter was solely caused by complex weather conditions and the geographical features of the region. No evidence supports various speculations such as technical malfunction, sabotage, assassination, explosion, or electronic interference," the statement says.
It was noted that recently, some members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) and other individuals in Iranian media and social networks have referred to Raisi's helicopter crash as sabotage.
Noted that on May 19 of last year, a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi crashed in the Varzaqan district of East Azerbaijan province, resulting in the deaths of 8 people. On board the helicopter were Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Governor of East Azerbaijan Malik Rahmati, Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, the Imam of the Juma Mosque in Tabriz city, and Mehdi Mousavi, General Brigader of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
