Some details of the explosion that occurred at a restaurant located on Kudrinskaya Square in central Moscow have been released, and the target was the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces, APA 's Russian bureau reports.
The National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) announced that an improvised explosive device was detonated at the Balzi Rossi restaurant, where a private event was held, on August 1.
The woman carrying the explosive device, a security guard who tried to prevent her from entering the restaurant, and a customer were killed, it was reported. Another 21 people were injured.
REN TV reported that the death toll had reached five. Two more people died in hospital, according to the report.
The Kommersant newspaper reported that the target of the explosion was the participants of an event held at the restaurant.
Local Telegram channels claimed that the target of the explosion was the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Alexander Chaiko, who was celebrating his birthday at the restaurant.
It was reported that numerous high-ranking military personnel of the Russian army attended the birthday ceremony.
