The shooting outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul was a message to Türkiye, Justice and Development Party (AK Party) spokesperson Omer Celik said, APA's Türkiye bureau reports.
He emphasized that there was a provocation behind the incident.
Celik noted that such incidents do not occur randomly and are not decisions made independently by certain groups.
The Justice and Development Party spokesperson added that Türkiye is determined to prevent such provocations and hidden plans.
Note that on April 7, three armed individuals opened fire on police officers performing their duties in front of the Israeli consulate in Istanbul.
As a result of the incident, two police officers were lightly injured, one of the attackers was killed, and two others were captured wounded.
It was reported that the consulate was not operating at the time and that no diplomatic staff were present in the building.
It was also noted that the three perpetrators arrived at the scene by car and were armed with automatic weapons and pistols.
