At least 32 civilians killed in Syria: monitors
The Britain-based group said 13 people were killed in an army assault on a village in the northwest province of Idlib, where troops and tanks have been massing this week, the Observatory said.
Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Britain-based group, said troops attacked the village of Ain Larose, in the province’s Jabal al-Zawiyah hill district, and opened fire killing 13 civilians
He said several people were also arrested, among them women.
Elsewhere, the Observatory said at least 11 people were killed in the central province of Homs, including eight in shelling and gunfire in various neighbourhoods of the flashpoint city itself.
Separately, two were reportedly killed in the province when security forces opened fire on demonstrators and one woman was killed by sniper fire.
Another two people were killed earlier in Idlib’s Jabal al-Zawiyah, according to the Observatory, and three were killed in central Hama province.
One demonstrator was also killed in Aleppo province and one man was killed in southern Daraa.
In the capital Damascus, one man was killed in shooting overnight.
The military build-up in Idlib has prompted concerns that the province could suffer the same fate as the Baba Amr neighbourhood of Homs, which was stormed by government troops on March 1 after a month of shelling.
