The possibility of opening toll roads for international freight transportation in northern Armenia is being considered, Sputnik Armenia reports.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reiterated that the shortest route from Central Asia to Europe passes through Armenia, particularly through the country's northern regions.
According to Pashinyan, work is currently underway with the European Union to open the highway stretching from Azerbaijan's Gazakh district through the Armenian cities of Ijevan, Vanadzor and Gyumri to Akhurik on the Turkish border for international freight transportation.
"This project is very easy to implement. All that is needed is a political agreement," the Armenian leader noted.
