The next round of indirect talks between the United States and Iran will be held on July 18, Al Arabiya television and a senior source said, APA reports.
According to the source, Tehran has been informed that any progress regarding Iran's frozen financial assets will depend solely on the country's full compliance with the terms of the memorandum of understanding and practical verification of that compliance. These conditions also include commitments related to the security of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, Iran's Joint Armed Forces Command stated that the continued US military presence in the airspace over the Strait of Hormuz poses a threat to regional security.
The command warned that any US interference in the Strait of Hormuz would be met with a swift and decisive response.
The statement added that "all vessels are required to follow the maritime route designated by Tehran to ensure safe passage through the strait."
