SOCAR has begun delivering Uzbek-produced naphtha to international markets via the Black Sea, Head of Global Business Development at SOCAR Trading Tofig Kocharli said at the Business Forum held as part of the 28th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), APA-Economics reports.
“We have been actively working with Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan for many years, transporting around 4 million tonnes of oil from these countries to international markets annually.
I am pleased to announce that Uzbekistan has joined this list starting this year. SOCAR Trading has begun supplying naphtha, one of the main petroleum products produced in Uzbekistan, and is delivering it to international markets via the Black Sea,” he said.
He stressed that SOCAR is making significant investments to increase infrastructure capacity in order to expand transit capabilities. The goal is to more efficiently meet the growing demand of partner countries across the Caspian Sea, create additional transit capacity, and further expand the region's logistics capabilities.
