It should already be planned in which direction Azerbaijan's activities in peacekeeping missions will be developed, Major General Elman Samadov, Head of the Military Security Department of the Service of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said at the presentation ceremony of the "Report on the Peacekeeping Operations of the Azerbaijan Army," APA reports.
He noted that the participation of any country in peacekeeping missions is not easy: "For a state that has fought a war, sending its military personnel beyond the country's borders for peacekeeping operations is an important and responsible step."
The major general said that the most advanced practices and standards applied in NATO were used in preparing the report: "Operational planning, the organization of interaction among various units, mission command, and other areas were analyzed based on NATO criteria."
Elman Samadov emphasized that new threats are emerging in the modern era: "Factors such as cybersecurity, information warfare, and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles have become an integral part of modern operations.
