Azer Dadashovâ€™s piano pieces to be played in the contest

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“ APA. Azerbaijan Composers Union and Azerbaijan Culture Foundation organized a contest of best performers of honorable art figure Azer Dadashovâ€™s piano pieces on the occasion of Children Year 2009 and 75 years anniversary of the Azerbaijan Composers Union. Spokesman for the Union Iltifat Hajikhanoghlu told APA the contest was organized for increasing of music interests among the children and youth, forming of musical taste, popularization of the contemporary composersâ€™ pieces for children, improving of the repertoire of musical school students and discovering the talented children and young people. The three-phase contest will be held among the children and youth under 18. Contenders can apply the organizing committee until October 2009. Members of the Azerbaijan Composers Union and professors of Baku Academy of Music will be in jury. The winners will be awarded with diplomas and money rewards and will get opportunity to release CD.
