Azerbaijani exhibition opened at the Venice Biennale

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova – APA. The 53rd Venice Biennale, the world contemporary art exhibition was opened in Venice, Italy. Azerbaijani pavilion was placed in Giudecca Zitelle Theater (Civic Center) in Venice, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Zohra Aliyeva told APA. Azerbaijani delegation headed by Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev attended the opening of Azerbaijani exhibition at the Venice Biennale. Chief of the Visual and Decorative Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Leila Akhundzadeh presented the exhibition and introduced the Azerbaijani artists to the visitors. The Azerbaijani pavilion follows the French philosopher Rene Descartes’ phrase “I think therefore I am”. World-known Azerbaijani artist Tahir Salahov’s works, as well as works of Naila Sultan, Teymour Rustamov, Teymour Daimi, Niyaz Najafov, Farid Rasulov, Tarlan Gorchu and “Khatt” (Line) Art Group are exhibited at the pavilion. The exhibition will last until November.
