Since seizing control of this proud nation 47 years ago, the regime and its murderous minions have spread nothing but terrorism, death, and hatred, US President Donald Trump said this during his speech to Congress, APA reports.
Trump said the Iranian government had killed thousands of US soldiers and millions of people, as well as maimed hundreds of others.
"They have killed at least 32,000 protesters, 32,000 protesters in their own country. They have shot them and hanged them. They have already developed missiles that can threaten Europe and our bases abroad, and they are working on developing missiles that will soon reach the United States," Trump added.
Trump then commented on the negotiations between the United States and Iran.
"They want to make a deal. But we haven't heard from them the words 'we will never have nuclear weapons.' I prefer to resolve this problem diplomatically. But I am sure of one thing: I will never allow the main sponsor of world terrorism to have nuclear weapons. I cannot allow that," Trump added.
During his speech, Trump also touched on the issue of resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
"We are working very hard to end this ninth war. If I were president, this war would never have happened," Trump said.
