Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the deaths of two American service members in an Iranian strike on Jordan strengthens the US commitment to military action against the Islamic Republic, APA reports.
"Their sacrifice only strengthens our resolve," Hegseth wrote in X. He was commenting on a previously released statement from the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). It stated that "two U.S. service members in Jordan were killed in action" while repelling an Iranian attack using ballistic missiles and drones. Another American service member is listed as missing in action.
CENTCOM also clarified that four service members were hospitalized, and several others received minor injuries.
