Senior hydrologist of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Asif Verdiyev told APA that on October 19, the maximal temperature was 31.6 C in Baku and Absheron peninsula and it is above normal (16.1 C) for October.
The senior hydrologist stressed that the stable and mild weather in the country in October is typical for autumn: “The weather that is currently observed is 1.8 C below normal. But within two days, the temperature will gradually rise to 18…23 C. Such weather is suitable for October.”
According to him, the hottest weather in Azerbaijan in October was recorded in 1930: “The temperature was 35.1 C in that year.”
